I love google

I was on this iphone kick for a long time.. I wanted the iphone for many reasons, not the least of them being "mobile me."

Mobile me is a service that syncs your iphone wirelessly with your calendar book and contacts, so, let's say I have a secretary because I am bad at organization... My secretary could input all of my appointments into my calendar from the office, and my phone would automatically update my calendar and give me reminders about it.. Haha I don't have a secretary but and I don't have an iphone, but our friends at google came up with this brilliant idea of "why should you have to have an iphone to do this, and if you have an iphone, why should you have to pay 90 dollars a year just to sync your contacts and your calendar wirelessly... So they gave me the gift of google sync. There free version of mobile me. Google kills it, they help me get directions or help me find new restaurants, they sync my calendar, all from my phone, I even post these blogs from the phone. I like google and the fact
that they are right behind apple and putting out comparable products free to people who already are paying 30 dollars more then everyone else to have a smart phone.

So I have become content for now staying on verizon, not getting an iphone, and letting google enhance my communication experience. Even if I get an iphone which won't happen until verizon gets it, I still will probably use the google apps over the apple ones. Sorry I posted a blog about my phone, but I really am stoked on this it has helped me a ton!

I kinda think google is going to take over the world. Its kinda scary actually... But if they can pull it off then I say go for it!

Crying bundle of joy

I remember years ago we had a song on a compilation called "crying bundle of joy" or something like that.. Now I appreciate the phrase so much more.

I am writing this post sitting on my couch with my beautiful baby girl in my arms, writing from my phone. I just wanted to post an update, Emilly Roxanne Bender was born this Monday morning, September 14th at 1:32am in Los Angeles, ca at Cedars Sinai hospital in Beverly Hills. She is awesome! I am so stoked about being a dad and about the newest member of our wonderful family.

Love you, mean it.

What a joy

What a joy it was to play a concert tonight with Hyperbole at historic Angelus Temple... I was thinking about this today and to me its really crazy... before moving to LA every year when I was booking our tours I thought how cool it would be to get a gig at angelus temple, I had just heard so much about it over the years... I also tried to book, even emailed Brad the youth Pastor at the time about playing the youth group.. Year after year tour after tour the dream center and angelus temple was just one of those untouchable tour spots for hyperbole it felt like... And now look at us. Two thirds of the band is on their staff, we are working hand in hand with the same people that I couldn't even figure out how to get ahold of back in the day.. God just has a way of making everything beautiful and perfect in his timing though it may seem odd at the time.

We had a ton of fun tonight opening up for I'm Okay You're Okay.. Goto www.dreamcenter.org and pre order their new record stories of redemption, and keep an eye on hyperbole stuff to pick up because we all remembered how much we love playing together this week and are going to be doing a lot more of it as the days continue on.

Still not a baby has popped out. Someday soon I hope, story of our lives...

Pasta Jacob

My new specialty.. Pasta Jacob... Now I am not a person who generally cooks good, but this is really good!

And I wanted to share it with my friends so they can make it at home, just don't forget to call it Pasta Jacob.

Its rigatoni noodles in a tomato alfredo sauce.. Grill up some italian sausage, cut it up and mix it in, then stir in some goat cheese for a delightful pasta experience (especially good for us living in California that have to drive 270 miles to the nearest Carrabbas)

Love you mean it.

Living the life

So, the fact is that life is going to change very rapidly very shortly... A change in which I am welcoming with open arms, yet in the time before our babies arrival, Dawn and I have just really been loving these last few days together before the baby comes, taking full advantage of everything there is to do in our city... We've gone to three Dodger games this week, went to the Ocean twice, checked out some cool restaurants all over the city from echo park to marina del rey to Culver city... Its seriously been wonderful!

I think sometimes its easy to take for granted the many blessings that God has given to all of us... Its so easy to think of all the things I don't like or am un content with an forget about the fact that we are right where God wants us at this moment in time, so we can either embrace it, or we can accept to not experience all that God has for us.
It took us being about to have a baby to get out and experience all the cool stuff there is here! Needless to say I have enjoyed these last few weeks of our lives, just living it up with Dawn the most anyone can do on hardly no budget, and dreaming of a future so filled with brightness... But not looking so far ahead that we miss what's right in front of us, right here, right now.. A moment we will never have again.. Let's take some pictures and make some memories as we wait on Gods timing to change our lives. He always is on time.
